Journey

Despite only having a few hours on board the Journey I had a fantastic experience on board. The cabins were a little smaller than I expected, therefore I would definately recommend having one of the suites on board which have a seperate living area and much larger balcony.

We ate in the speciality restaurant Aqualina which is definately worth the small cover charge, the soup and fillet mignon was superb, I particularly enjoyed the intimate atmosphere of the restaurants which meant almost everyone had a seaview.

The ship reminded me very much of a country club hotel with all the furnishings and decor reflecting this. I was particularly impressed with the pool deck, with the pool and whirlpools surrounded by plenty of sunbeds for everyone on board which were wood rather than plastic.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the ship to passengers looking for a fantastic cruise.

I was fortunate enough to visit the Azamara Journey for a tour and lunch onboard, on 22nd August in Liverpool, whilst on her Around Britain Cruise.

The ship has the casual elegance of a boutique style hotel, whilst still traditional with lots of wood, brass and neutral colours, yet has an intimate and relaxed feel.

I found the cabins to be smaller than I would have expected, however the suites were very spacious with a much larger balcony.

The food in the Aqualina Restaurant was exquisite. We had brocolli and cauliflower soup, fillet mignon and creme brulee!

The deck areas were excellent with lots of space and really comfortable padded sun loungers.

With only 694 guests onboard, she is small enough to sail right into the remote ports of the world making the itineraries more exciting and interesting.

Included in the fare are gratuities and wine with meals. We often have special deals including large amounts of onboard credit, and if you are fortunate enough to receive these it will make your package almost all-inclusive.

I have cruised on many ships, and would recommed Azamara Journey to anyone looking for a unique holiday experience.

I really liked the location and layout of all the restaurants onboard. Their intimate nature means that almost everyone gets a sea view and from my own experience, the food and service was fantastic. I dined in the speciality restaurant Aqualina, well worth the small cover charge I would say!
Lobster bisque and fillet mignon were exceptional, not to mention the creme brulee I had for dessert!

In terms of the ships facilities, the pool/lido area was a personal favourite of mine, with comfortable sun loungers and plenty of deck space to accommodate all guests. There were also one of two lovely coffee shops / bars, in keeping with the country club feel throughout the ship.

I would describe the majority cabins as comfortable & elegant but a little bit smaller than I expected. If you want that bit of extra space, I would definately suggest a suite which provide a nice living area and much larger balcony.

The fact that gratuities are included in the price is a big plus point for me and the itineraries the ship has to offer are certainly very interesting and clearly differ from that of other cruise lines.

On the whole, although it was somewhat of a whistle stop tour, I would have no hesitation recommending the Azamara Journey.
